Terry Lynn Jacobsen passed peacefully at Hospice Care Center of Ft. Collins on September 15, 2023 following a short but brave and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Terry was born on May 11, 1954 to Glenn Willard Jacobsen and Jean Louellen (McNeill) Jacobsen in Longmont, Colorado. He attended Columbine Elementary, Longmont Jr High, Longs Peak Jr High and Longmont High School graduating in the class of 1972. He was involved in choir and lettered in baseball in high school, including being selected All-Conference his senior year. Following high school, he attended Front Range Community College studying architectural drawing. Terry was married to Susan Marsh during which time a son, Steven, was born. Later, he married Julie Dorsey and their son, Tyler was born during their union. Terry was blessed to be reconnected with the love of his life, Nyla (Clark) Bristow in 2008. Terry and Nyla had attended kindergarten together and dated in high school. They rekindled their love and they were together until his passing. They celebrated their commitment to each other with family and friends on September 2, 2023. Terry’s love of cars and all things automotive shaped his life and careers. He started to cultivate that love in high school working at Longmont Auto Parts. Following that he worked in a variety of automotive parts services ending up with a 25-year career at the City of Longmont Fleet. Terry also sponsored and coached softball teams in Longmont before injuries to his knees prevented him from playing and coaching. He was also involved in the Single Action Shooting Society (S.A.S.S.) Terry loved motorcycles, golfing, traveling with Nyla and friends, and spending time in Arizona. He was the Assistant Director of the Greeley Harley Owners Group (HOG) and one of his favorite adventures was a motorcycle ride along Highway 101 on the west coast. Terry was an ardent supporter of the Miss Rodeo Colorado and Miss Rodeo America programs. He was a sponsor of MRC, attended events, helping in any way he could, and was named Volunteer of the Year for Miss Rodeo Colorado. Terry was a remarkable man whose kindness, patience and generosity were never-ending. It was impossible to meet and talk to Terry – even for a brief time – and not walk away a friend. The world was a better and brighter place with Terry in it. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by the love of his life, Nyla Bristow, his sons Steven (Tracy) Jacobsen of Loveland, CO and Tyler (Katherine) Jacobsen of Ft. Belvior, VA, grandsons Ben, Samuel, Jasper and Theodore, brother Glenn (Alberta) Jacobsen, niece Tammy Johnson, father-in-law, C.H. Clark, and brother-in-law Doug (Laura) Clark. A public Celebration of Life for Terry will be scheduled and held at a later date. Celebrate his life now by taking a Harley for a spin, playing a round of golf enjoying the outdoors, or do a random act of kindness in Terry’s memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Miss Rodeo Colorado Scholarship Fund, 1650 35th Avenue Ct. Greeley, CO 80634.
